Located among the Red Maple and Sycamore trees in Cromwell, Connecticut, TPC River Highlands’ breathtaking beauty is yet another masterpiece designed by architect Pete Dye. The course, originally built in 1928, has undergone many name changes and redesigns since its inception, most recently in 1989 by Bobby Weed. 

Since 1991, TPC River Highlands has hosted the Travelers Championship, and it’s the second-most attended PGA TOUR event year after year. Whether you’re playing in PGA TOUR 2K23 or spectating the actual PGA TOUR, large crowds swarm the scenic course to witness elite precision and shot-making. The home stretch has four treacherous holes, all candidates for the course’s featured hole, and has been described as the four most exciting finishing holes in golf by former Travelers Championship winner Stewart Cink.

Featured Hole: No. 16 (171 Yards, par 3)

Standing between you and the 16th green is a small lake—and that’s not an exaggeration. With no fairway and hardly even a fringe around the green, this is as close as you’ll come to a do-or-die hole. Year after year, the 16th claims a number of golf balls, never to be seen again, but planting your ball firmly on the green is certainly doable. The green gradually slopes back toward the water, and once a ball gets rolling, it’s tough to stop, so make sure to aim for the back of the green to be safe.
